Revelry Late 2015. A chance meeting in a local club. Aaron and Sion realised that they had a mutual hunger to play straight up riff-driven rock in a balls-to-the-wall band. So they did. Fusing gut-punching vocal power with soft, downplayed melody, Olivia became the band’s frontwoman.

Broken Dollars, a truly unique rock band formed by Luke Williams - Vocals/Guitar and Simon Cook - Drums. A duo brought together many years ago by the same passion; great beats and soul.

William the Conqueror / Jonas and Jane / Bryony Dunn

Cornwall trio William the Conqueror have been picking up praise from far flung corners ever since Ruarri Joseph took the step to go public with his erstwhile secret alter-ego.  After a summer of festivals, followed by a tour opening for Loose label-mates Danny & the Champions of the World, the band are now readying themselves for a run of headline shows.  The Indie-rock three piece sees Ruarri joined by bassist Naomi Holmes and drummer Harry Harding, channelling classic blues and roots through a grunge/indie filter, with diverse influences including The Doors, Ryan Adams and The Lemonheads.  Praised for their grit and authenticity, they made their mark at AmericanaFest in Nashville, signing to Loose, and going on to pick up a nomination at the UK Americana Awards 2017.

DARKO / Almeida / Sombulance / Revolution Summer

A monster line up of melodic hardcore and punk to put in you November gig diary!

Melodic and heavy, fast and intricate, Guildford’s favorite punk band DARKO have been leaving a massive technical boot print on the UK music scene. Taking elements of modern hardcore and mashing it up with the skate punk sound, reminiscent of 90’s era Epitaph-Fat Wreck bands, the band have been treating audiences to hi-octane, incendiary live shows for quite a while now. Having played with countless bands from around the world Darko have garnered a reputation as one of the best live acts that the UK and European punk scene has to offer.

Support comes from South Coast prog/thrash/melodic punk four piece ALMEIDA who will be making their Guildford debut. Forming in 2007, Almeida have played in 18 different countries and have shared stages with the likes of H2O, Shai Hulud, A Wilhelm Scream and Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls.

Jack and his Giant Stalk the Adult Panto!

Jack and His Giant Stalk

Our friends at Guildford Fringe are back for their 5th year of panto and this year Jack & The Beanstalk is the target of their attentions!

All is not peachy in the kingdom of Fringeland as the impact of Frexit starts to bite. Even double entendres have been banned for being French.

Can three magic beans change their fortunes in life and love? I think we all know the answer to that one.

Meanwhile in the Kingdom of Pantoland, the elusive Evil Queen has Princess Jill imprisoned in a castle behind a mahoosive hedge. Who can finally conquer her bush and stop the Evil Queen governing the land without a solid man-date?

There is so much at stake…

… If Jack goes up the stalk, will Jill go down on it?

Join us at this year’s Adult Panto to find out how on earth Guildford Fringe are going to cram in two whole Kingdoms and a giant sodding beanstalk into the Back Room of The Star Inn!

Matt Price - Among his fellow comics Matt Price is known for having some of the most extraordinary and outrageous stories drawn from the wilder side of life. And yet this self effacing Cornish born comic brings real warmth and heart to his tales – as well as finding some audacious laughs in the most unexpected places. Price’s easy going charm has made him a favourite on the UK and International circuit and he has the skill to win over the toughest audiences.

Maff Brown - began performing stand-up comedy in November 2005. He is the founder and resident MC for Outside the Box, and is responsible for bringing comedians such as Jimmy Carr, Lenny Henry and Robin Williams to the club.  Maff also tours with his own material and has had success everywhere across Britain and as far as America.

Stephen Bailey - ‘Guilty pleasure’ (Daily Record), Stephen Bailey is a comedian, television personality and writer, who’s brand of gossipy humour has made him one of the most sought after acts on the UK comedy circuit today. He is ‘annoyingly sharp’ (The New Current) and audiences relate to his sassy style as he takes to the stage with ‘fantastic natural wit and charisma’ (Edinburgh Festivals).  As well as being a working-class, ginger, gay, northern comic, he is also a black belt in Tae Kwon-Do, has a degree in Languages AND loves a conspiracy theory (preferably involving a celebrity  and a cucumber). This year has also seen Stephen go viral online with a video about representation and diversity during an interview for BUILD Series on AOL.

Mike Cox- has been performing comedy for five years.  He regularly MC’s, opens and headlines and has been booked for such clubs as Glee, Jongleurs, Krater as well as other reputable clubs and promoters.  He also played at the Southsea Show along with Mike Gunn, Ava Vidal and Adam Bloom.

Jake Lambert - Jake started stand-up after gaining a following on Twitter under the pseudonym @LittleLostLad. He  then decided to put down his iPhone and pick up a microphone. It has proven to be a great choice with him making it to the semi-finals of the BBC New comedy Award within 6 months of his first gig, allowing him to perform on both BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 2.  His joke writing has lead him to write for such shows as 8 Out of 10 Cats, BBC’S Mock The Week, and E4’s Virtually Famous.  Jake has gone on to receive a plethera of nominations including The Magners New Comedian of the Year 2015, and the prestigious Leicester Mercury New Act of the Year 2015.  He also made it to the final of the English Comedian of the Year and the Amused Moose Laugh Off Final, 2016.

Luckily, he can do comedy even if he can’t do the standing up.  He has a unique perspective on life, usually of people’s belly buttons.  He’s greatest influences are: Nelson Mandela, Muhammed Ali and Barry Chuckle.  Aaron recently performed at the final of the BBC New Comedy Award.  “The best opening joke we’ve ever seen.” – Bristol Underground Comedy
